I'm Shocked!

Jade woke up at 2:30am this morning and went potty...and when she woke up she was dry. I can't believe it. She is amazing!

PT Update

So far Jade is doing better than expected. I know she's quite young but I felt she was ready and what a surprise. One accident yesterday and none today thus far. Everytime she has to go she comes and tells me "wet" and we run for the bathroom. It is so cute! Now she tells me if she doesn't need to go and I find I'm reminding her less and less.

We reward her with jelly beans. We started with 1 for trying 2 for pee and 3 for BM. It has worked fabulous and we rarely go "sit" on the potty anymore. She generally tells me when and we rush. It is wonderful. I even made it through a trip to Lagoon on Monday afternoon and only went potty 2 times without any accidents the whole time. Whoopee! The first couple of days were filled with accidents but she's understanding the concept better and we're having fun. I am trying to make it a positive experience so that she won't give up. It is working out for both of us.

Potty Training

Sorry I have no pics to post...I'll have to do that tomorrow. I've been so caught up in trying to make sure we make it to the potty every 5-10 minutes it's been a little exhausting but exciting at the same time. We've been reading the Elmo potty book a few times a day and put big girl panties on Jade. She tends to go a tiny bit in the panties...realizes she's wet...then finishes on the potty. So needless to say, we've gone through about 15+ pairs of panties in 1 1/2 days but she's still had many successes. When I got her home tonight, she had a diaper on because I was washing all the panties and I was changing her into her jammies when she took off running. I followed her to the bathroom where she quickly sat down and went potty. I was so excited that she did it all by herself without a reminder. I think she is starting to get the hang of it. I feel that we still have a long road ahead of us, but I'll be glad to be diaper free for our Disneyland trip in November this year.

The Castle Park

We took the sand toys to the park to try them out. We had a great time and had sand everywhere...yes I mean everywhere when we got home.
I think Mike had just as much fun if not more fun sifting the rocks out of the sand as the girls did.
The sand wasn't wet enough for a sand castle.

Mike taught Jade how to sift the sand, so she's loading the sifter with sand.

Kazia is always making friends wherever she goes...and the sand toys were a hit with everyone.
I finally got Jade away from the sand for a few minutes and she loved the swing.

Another successful outing without any whining or attitude. There is starting to be more of these kind of outings and it is making it really enjoyable to take them places.

Birthday Party Pics

It has taken me a while to post pics of the girls' parties. They were a blast and I'm all partied out. I'm glad I only have to do it once a year.
On Jade's B-day we went to my school for the 6th grade dance. One of my students gave Jade the elmo doll she's holding and she's been attached ever since. Thank you Tessa!
When dad got home after nap, Jade opened a few presents from mom and dad. The first was beach/sand toys. Super fun!
The next was a Elmo potty book...since we're starting the PT process shortly after her b-day.
Finally...the bike. Jade was so excited to get her bike so she could ride bikes with Kazia. She can even pedal it once or twice.
Another one of her favorites...an Elmo shirt. If you can't tell...she loves Elmo.
And for some reason we think it is fun to love our cartoon characters then bash them to bits. Bryant was successful in bashing off the first appendage. He's a good hitter even though Uncle Brandon was moving the pinata around a lot.
Jade and all the other kids thought this was sooooo fun!
Last but not least...birthday cake. Yummy!

Kazia wanted to run through the sprinklers at Nana's but they quickly realized it was way too cold.

Dad came home from work early so that Kazia could open her presents. She got a baseball bat and glove to play with her dad. She was stoked and I think dad was almost as excited as she was.
They immediately went out to play while Jade took a nap. Kazia even hit a few...
and caught a few. It was a blast!

Then we went to Erins for hot dogs and to play in the water. I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did. The water was freezing and it wasn't that warm out, but they enjoyed it.
There was an error in transferring most of Kazia's pics at Chuck E. Cheese's and I had already erased them before I knew there was a problem, so there aren't many from there. This is the only pic I got of Kazia at Chuck E. Cheese. The rest are fond memories.

Happy 4th Birthday Kazia!!!

Sorry there are so many pics. I had a hard time narrowing them down to this many. We have so many cute pics of Kazia.

Okay...so this is Kazia, I put this on Jade's birthday post because I couldn't find the one of me just before I had Jade. I now have the pick of me pregnant with Jade and have updated her post. I think I was bigger with Jade believe it or not. Kazia barely made it on the first. She was born at 11:56 pm.

Love at first sight....little did Kazia know it at the time, but she is with one of her best friends. Kazia gets so excited to see Grampy and loves to call and talk to him all the time. Playing cards with Papa at Thanksgiving. She's not very good about keeping her hand a secret. This is what happens when left with Aunt B.
Kazia's first steps...almost. I was actually at school when the first steps occured, but this was shortly after. She was only 9 1/2 months old. Wow!

One of Kazia's favorite things to do was sleep with dad.

The Easter egg hunt in Moab. Kazia just learned to walk and she had a blast.

Queen of the remote...even though she wasn't even watching t.v., she sure looks interested in the black screen.
She's asking dad for some help blowing out her candles...it's tough when you don't have much air to blow.
Kazia is ready for her birthday cake and has her game face on.

Swimming with Erin and Bryant has filled many of our summer days.

Halloween as a bumble bee. I love this pic floppy wings and all.

Kazia was so proud to have stolen my kermit slippers and start showing them off.

Fun at Nana's...another favorite. Kazia gets soooo excited to see Nana!

We had a hard time finding a sippy that Kazia would take. She was about 20 months when we found this one. Again...love at first sight. She just barely gave it up...unwillingly.

Hangin' out with mom.

Fun at the zoo with Aunt B. The elephant just did it's business and Kazia didn't like it.

The fire truck park by Nana and Grampy's is so much fun!

"Grampy, go for ride" is one of the first things Kazia said when she saw the 4-wheelers. Grampy likes taking her for rides around the yard. At first she didn't like it...it was too noisy, but she warmed up to it and now loves it.

Building a snowman with dad was so cool!

You would think that a 2 year old wouldn't be able to do this crazy puzzle, but in her own way, she did. She was so excited that all the pieces fit, but couldn't understand why there were holes and no straight edges. It's a different kind of puzzle. She LOVES puzzles!
The first time I painted her nails. She was almost 3 and I thought she'd finally sit still long enough to let me do them...little did I know, I've been doing Jade's since she was about 18 months and Kazia has always sat better than Jade. She's been officially girlified.

Kazia was so excited to start swimming lessons. She had been swimming since she was 3 months old. Unfortunately she decided to start being afraid of the water this year and lessons were tough. After the lessons, she was much better and ventured out more on her own at the Smith pool.
Kohls is one of my favorite places to shop. While I was searching for a few things with Jade, Aunt B let Kazia pick her own accessories and they actually match and are kinda cute. Well done.
Kazia also started dance lessons this year and was a doll at her recital. I can't wait until the next one this weekend. She had 2 dances that are so adorable.

Hiking up Adam's Canyon with dad was a blast! You gotta love the cheeser. I can't wait until she stops doing that. Her real smile is so pretty.
On Jade's birthday we went to the 6th grade dance at my school. Kazia was doing the chicken dance with some of my students at the end. She had the time of her life!

Happy 4th Birthday Kazia!!!
