4th of July Parade

I worked a grave on Saturday morning, went to a neighborhood breakfast then hurried to the Centerville parade to see my Aunt Barbie's float. We got there just as it was coming around the corner. Perfect timing. Paula, Barbie's friend is in the red shirt. Barbie is hiding on the right.

This calling consumes 2-3 months of your life working 12-14 hour days. All I can say is DEDICATION!My parents had this same calling 2 years ago and Aunt Barbie came to the rescue and helped my parents sculpt the animals on their float, so my parents helped Barbie in return. This is the only pic I could find on the internet. My parents have many more. It is hard to see the HUGE bunny and birds on the back chasing the mormon meteor.

WOW!!! Check out the story teller who moves his head from side to side...the huge moose with his legs over a log, the fox, and the frog laying on the mushroom moving his feet with "The End" painted on the bottom of his feet which you can see in the pic below. There is a ton of other stuff that is hard to see from this angle, but I hope she wins an award. You can check out her float and vote for it a couple of days before the 24th of July. I forgot the name of the location...sorry. It will be at the center in South Jordan just off the 90th exit and north on State Street.

This float is amazing! Look at all of the detail she put into it. Aunt Barbie sculpted all of the animals from foam and then all her volunteers helped glitter them. WOW!!! Great job you guys!

Here are the soldiers that fight for our country. Just about everyone stood to honor them and the others that are still fighting.

Lagoon with Easton

I got to watch Easton for 2 days while Bryan and Katelin were in Moab with my parents riding 4-wheelers. We had a blast at Lagoon. It is nice that he is still free.

They loved the bumper cars but had a hard time steering them.

Easton got so excited when he saw the helicopters. The all loved going up and down over and over again.

After the helicopters Easton caught sight of the planes and that was our next destination.

Then the scalliwags.

Easton pulled down the bar and bumped Kazia's head. You'd think he'd beat her with the bar, but it wasn't that bad. I told her to put a smile on her face or we were going home.

Within 2 seconds she was happy again. They were so cute looking out the window at the train station.
The kids cheeks were so rosy red because of the heat. It was almost time to go home and take a nap.

You can see the tiger sleeping in the upper right hand corner. That is Kazia and Easton's favorite part of the train ride.

Kazia didn't want to get wet so she ducked under the water as it squirt over her.

Just before we left the kids played a little in the water. Don't they have cute bums?

Ward Campout at Crystal Hot Springs

After arriving my girls were hungry and Jade found the nacho cheese doritos. She loves them!
It hailed/rained for about 10 minutes and then warmed right back up. The girls used their blankets to stay warm for a bit since I left the sweaters at home.

We played bible charades. The bishop talked to us a little first and Kazia though he was the prophet, so all weekend that is what she called him.

Mike and I learned how to play liars dice which is really fun and Jade had fun with the dice and cups afterward.

The Brother Hill put on a mini puppet show using puppets and scenery that he created. He later gave Kazia one of the goats from Billy Goats Gruff. It was awesome.

Kazia had her first smore. She learned how gooey and sticky they are on the first bite.

We enjoyed the stickyness together. MMMMMMM!!!! We went to bed around 10pm and Jade cried and wiggled until about midnight then slept sound until 6:30 am. Kazia slept in despite Jades talking and wiggling. The used an outhouse for the first time and they didn't like it one bit. I had to talk Jade into going. She almost didn't.

Kazia had fun helping dad take down the tent.

Jade watched. When we finished cleaning up camp, we went swimming for a couple of hours. It was a little hot but super fun!
