Moab

We ended up making a last minute trip to Moab the first week of March with the passing of my Grandpa DJ. He will be greatly missed. It just wasn't the same entering the Beauregard residence and not having him greet us from the head of the table. What was great is that it was the first time in over 32 years that all 8 children and most of their grandchildren had been together. We had a blast catching up with cousins we hadn't seen in years and getting to see their offspring and show off ours.

My grandpa was in the Navy at the end of WWII and was a miner all his life. He did and saw many great things and has much to show for it. WE LOVE YOU GRANDPA!!! As a side note...Kazia was named after Grandpa DJ's grandmother Kazia Emily Nichols Beauregard...pretty neat huh.

We decided to extend our trip one more day and head to Arches National Park and take the girls for a hike to Delicate Arch (the one on the Utah license plate). It was 1 1/2 miles and the girls moved at a great pace for me. I know Mike thought we were slow...but come on...I'm 18 weeks prego and I think I did great. I'm glad I made it without hyperventilating to death. :) The girls did so great and Mike only had to carry Jade for about 5 minutes...she walked the rest of the way.

The whole way up the trail Kazia kept telling me that her legs said she was hungry and she'd better eat now...but she waited to eat lunch at the Arch.
Lunch at Delicate Arch.
You don't realize how enormous the Arch is until you see it for yourself.
Jade was so proud of herself for being a "big girl" and making the hike by herself.
Kazia did well navigating us back to our car by looking for the next pile of rocks that marked the trail. We had an awesome time and were thoroughly worn out when we started our journey home.

Kazia's VIP Poster

Kazia got to be the VIP in preschool this week and this is the poster she came up with. She picked out the pics and I had them printed. I helped her place the photos...then she chose the colors, flowers, and font for the poster. I cut them out with my cricut and she stuck them all on so it is truely her creation. I think it turned out awesome!

Hairbow Holder

I had fun making this and it was quick, fun, cheap, and easy to make. For step-by-step instructions and pictures on how to make one yourself, check out my embellishedbybrenda website (listed on my fav. links).

Catching Up

So I finally had everthing I needed to start posting again and my camera went AWOL!!! I finally found it today and am posting a little bit of all that we've done the past couple of months that my camera was in use.
At the end of November we went to the Hogle Zoo with Becky, Naomi, Katelin, and Easton. It was fun and Jade was super excited as you can see.
We got to see the baby elephant...
Lions...and much much more. Aren't Easton and Jade cute?!?
All in all it was a great day...not too cold as long as we all stayed bundled up.
Sledding on the side of the house with Aunt B while mom was substituting.
Fun! Fun! Fun!
Christmas P.J.'s
Santa came....lots of fun stuff!

The girls loved Jade's new tent with tunnel. They opened and played with a lot of their presents in the tent.
You can see the top of Kazia's head poking out of the tunnel...and if you look closely you can see Jade has her new shoes on that have headlights. She loves shoes....oh no!!!

Jade's first haircut at Aunt Susu's Salon. Such long curly hair but it was stringy and thin at the bottom so I wanted to trim that part off.
She first got to wash her hair in the sink. She was a bit nervous but liked it.
The first cut. Jade sat very still.
The finished product about 2 1/2 inches shorter. It looks very cute and healthy. Thanks Aunt Susu!!!

Riding biked in January in the snow. It was close to 45 degrees which at this point felt warm so we bundled up and rode bikes for about an hour before lunch. It was a lot of fun.

It's a BOY!!!

The doctor got a great look and it's definitely a BOY!!! Mike walked out of the doctor's office a little taller today and his face was beaming!

Posting

So I've been super slacker on posting since we moved. At first my camera was missing...then the cable to connect it to the computer was missing so I had to buy a replacement ($25!!!)...then the battery charger was missing. I finally have all three and will be updating both of my blogs by the end of the week with some fun stuff from the past 2-3 months.

Baby #3 is on the way!

We found out late on Thanksgiving that we are pregnant with baby #3. We went to our first doctor's visit on Monday and took the girls to see the ultrasound. All is well and looks healthy. It was super fun and the girls are way too excited. Our due date is Aug. 1 but our new addition will probably arrive on or around July 26th (Thank you induction!). The doctor said we may find out what we're having at our 14 week appt. on Feb. 3rd...if not it will be the first week of March. We'll update anything we find out.
